Dig in at the 26th Annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival

First reporting: The 26th Annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival is coming to Boone Hall on Sunday, January 25.

Here's a bit about it from the event page:
The “World’s Largest Oyster Roast” will be held Sunday January 25, 2009 from 10:30am to 5pm at beautiful Boone Hall Plantation. The Lowcountry Oyster Festival attracts visitors from all over the world and is one of the premier social gatherings held annually in the state of South Carolina. This festive event continues to grow each year as over 65,000 lbs. of oysters will be enjoyed by thousands of people from all over the world.

It is put together each year by the Charleston Restaurant Association as a fundraiser for several outstanding Lowcountry charities including the Ronald McDonald House and the Hollings Cancer Center.

To cram your gullet with tasty oysters head to 1235 Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Advanced tickets are $10 and $12 at the gate. You can buy them online.
