The Lowcountry chapter of the Native Plant Society is gearing up for the 2010 Native Plant Symposium happening May 7 - 9.

The symposium brings together a diverse group of people from across the state - master gardeners, horticulturalists, home gardeners, landscape architects, nursery professionals, professors, students, and state representatives. All in attendance have one goal: to learn and share best practices for sustaining biodiversity in our own backyards.

Over the course of three days, enjoy lectures, field trips, and panel discussions against the beautiful backdrop of historic Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. The Quality Suites Convention Center in North Charleston will also play host to a handful of gatherings. The event's keynote speaker is Doug Tallamy, author of Bringing Nature Home - How You Can Sustain Wildlife with Native Plants.
