Saloon's throwing a benefit party for young Zowie's bucket list

At 7 years old, most kids are worrying about which friends they are going to invite over for sleepovers or what new toy they want from Wal-Mart. Or, why they have to go to bed so early. Not young Zowie. Zowie Kile is suffering from AML Leukemia.

She has big dreams on her bucket list like going to Disney World, something usually reserved for adults who want to accomplish certain things before they die. Zowie is brave and not scared at all. Now battling her 4th relapse and her body too weak for treatment, she asked her mother if this meant the angels were going to be coming to get her. Her mom said, "Yes, baby." She replied, "Ya know what Mom, I think I'm ok with that." Powerful words coming from this fragile 7 year old. Exhibiting such strength in the most trying times is something that we should all strive for.

On July 21st, the Charleston community is coming together for a benefit concert for Zowie Kile that will be held at Market Street Saloon Smokehouse & Grill in North Charleston. There will be a donation at the door of $5 for Zowie in which you will get to hear 2 great bands! Southern Bred will go on at 8 p.m. and then Greg Austion, winner of the "Sing For Chevy 2011" for Herndon Chevrolet, will go on at 10 p.m.

An inspiring little girl, you can read her entire story and see photos of Zowie at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/zowiekile and you can see her story @ www.whotv13.com.

So please take time out to check this out!
