'Howliday at the Beach' returns, beware parading basset hounds in Folly, Charleston (updated)

Update December 9:

The numbers are in, and the Howl-a-Days pet adoption was a smashing success.

The Post and Courier reports that Forty-nine animals found their forever homes just in time for the holidays.

If you'd like to help out the SPCA even further, they are in need of large animal crates or monetary donations in order to purchase a new $1,000 scale. The donations can be dropped off at the SPCA at 136 Four Paws Lane in Summerville or mailed to SPCA, P.O. Box 1116, Summerville, SC 29484.

First reporting:

Since 1996, basset hound lovers from across the Carolinas and beyond, have converged on the Folly Beach area to celebrate a love of basset hounds and to support Carolina Basset Hound Rescue.

The main block of events is on Saturday, December 4, with a beach walk, brunch, dinner, and other social events, and will conclude on Sunday with the renowned waddling dog procession in the Charleston Christmas Parade
