On March 13th, the Charleston Film Festival is hosting the World Festival Premiere of the 8 minute comedy drama 'When Life Gives You Lemons'.

The film was executive produced by Academy Award winner Roger Corman and will be on the big screen at the Terrance Theater at 2 p.m.

Here's more from the press release:

The film was produced as part of the award-winning Make It Short Film Project, an annual ‘not-for-profit’ educational film workshop produced by Film Professor Lee Chambers from Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada.

“The result is a little gem that also features sparkling performances from three young kids new to filmmaking, alongside an experienced actor,” claims the film’s director Lee Chambers. “When Life Gives You Lemons is a heart -warming tale about recaptured youth”.

Los Angeles based actor Basil Hoffman (‘Ordinary People’ , ‘All The President’s Men’ and ‘Seinfeld’) stars as Calvin Adams attempting to outwit some neighborhood kids in a battle to sell the most lemonade.

The Make It Short Film Project is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to filmmaking. Over the last five years the event has raised thousands of dollars for various charities and exposed the art and craft of film production to hundreds of people. Executive Producer support for past Make It Short films have included Academy Award winners Denys Arcand and Paul Haggis.
