- Block party at Fuel. Music, food, DJ, college football watching, and, of course, food and drink. From 2 to 9 p.m. 211 Rutledge Avenue. The party benefits The Dee Norton Lowcountry Children's Center.
- Charleston's Holiday Market continues at the North Charleston Coliseum, offering "offers arts and crafts, specialty foods and fashions, gifts that glitter, music and magic - everything to make your holidays bright." 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's back on Sunday, too. $7 admission gets you in for all three days.
- Charleston Collegiate School's fourth annual Oyster Roast and Chili Cook-off. At the Poplar Grove Boat House on Rantowles Creek from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults ($25 at the door) and cheaper for kids. Buy online.
- The "2nd Annual Oyster Roast to benefit Charleston Community Sailing" at Bowens Island Restaurant, 1870 Bowens Island Road. $35 at the door.
- Overdose on comedy at 3rd annual Improv-A-Thon
- Video game tournament in West Ashley
- And a bit of bad news: Maurice Williams & The Zodiacs 50th have canceled their appearance at the Charleston Music Hall, as Maurice has taken ill.
