It's that time of year where we recognize dear old Dad and all he does for us throughout the year.  There are many activities and specials scheduled around the Grand Strand in honor of Father's Day, this coming Sunday.

Medieval Times is offering to admit Dad for free with the purchase of a full-price adult ticket for shows June 15 to 17, 2012.  Click here for more details and use promotion code DFWEB when ordering online or on the phone.

Myrtle Beach Speedway honors dads (and Boys and Girls Scouts) at their race on Saturday night, June 16, 2012.  Gates open at 5 p.m., practice starts at 6 p.m., and qualifying is at 7 p.m.  Check out the full schedule for more details.  To attend on the cheap, Myrtle Beach Dealsaver is offering half-price tickets

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans will play the Potomac Nationals on Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17, 2012.  Saturday's game starts at 7:05 p.m.  Sunday's game begins at 6:05 p.m and ends with fireworks.  On Saturday, the first 1000 fans will receive a Pelicans cooler.  Saturday is also Kids Club night, two-fold.  Members of the Pelicans Kids Club can get a free ticket.  Members of the Broadway at the Beach Kidztime Kids Club each get a free ticket and so does an accompanying adult.  Obviously the latter is the better deal.

If you're looking to do something active with Dad, how about the Virtual Father's Day Run?  It's scheduled for Sunday, June 17, 2012 at 9 a.m.  Choose any route of any distance.  This is part of the World Run Day celebration promoting running and an active lifestyle.
