Charleston Cupcake Competition cook-off aims to fight cancer

On Sunday, August 19, The American Cancer Society will host their first annual Charleston cupcake competition.

Cupcakes vs. Cancer” welcomes all professional, amateur and youth bakers of Charleston to cook-off to fight cancer. Pastry chefs from the city's top bakeries and restaurants compete for the gold alongside amateurs and youth competitors in their own divisions. Judges include an impressive array of food writers, cookbook authors, local magazine editors and the like.

The event features three flights of contestants; professionals, amateurs and youth bakers. There are various categories for each group to participate in. Register online

The event will be held at the Courtyard Marriott in Downtown Charleston from 2 to 5 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society. Tickets are $15 per person and are available online or at the door the day of the event. Each ticket entitles you to 5 cupcake coupons.
