Update April 19:  It's that time again! BACCO will be holding their Festa Di Mare the week of April 24th, offering a seafood-centric menu full of local/seasonal fare.  Coincidentally, Chef Michael Scognamiglio was featured in this week's City Paper piece on "under the radar" chefs.  It's perfect timing to get him in your radar!

First reporting:

BACCO, a powerhouse Italian eatery in Mount Pleasant, is celebrating the flavors of the ocean this week with their own Festa Di Mare (Festival of the Sea).

A special menu will be available throughout the week focusing on various types of seafood, many locally sourced and all sure to be delectable.  Check out the full menu here in all its glory.  Locally harvested proteins include sea bass, swordfish, shrimp, and clams - but don't think that means you can sleep on the octopus.  You, my friends, cannot sleep on the octopus.

Bacco offers up this video of a Venetian fish market to set the mood, so once you're all pumped up head to 976 Houston Northcutt Blvd, Suite O in Mount Pleasant.  Dinner is served from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday, and as late as 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.  A shorter version of the special menu will be available for lunch 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Friday.  Call them at (843) 884-6969 for more details, and follow/like them on Twitter/Facebook.
