Rare Beer Tuesday brings two powerhouse brews

The crew at Charleston Beer Exchange always brings in some nice brews for Rare Beer Tuesday, but this Tuesday at 5pm they are featuring two especially exciting and sought-after varieties from San Diego's Ballast Point Brewing guaranteed to make your NYE extra fancy.

From their blog:

Our feature this week is a sensational double header from Ballast Point Brewing Company: Sculpin IPA (7% ABV) and Victory at Sea Coffee Vanilla Imperial Porter (10% ABV)! These are two of the most sought after beers in the world and always sell out fast. We don’t get them very often so this is a truly rare chance at these growlers. Please note there will be a one per person limit on Sculpin IPA growler fills.

Briefly, Sculpin IPA gets an A from BeerAdvocate, but more importantly is in the top 15 in their listing of the Top Beers on Planet Earth.  It also has a perfect 100 from Ratebeer.  Victory at Sea takes the still very respectable #91 spot in Top Beers on Planet Earth listing, also has an A from BeerAdvocate, and a near-perfect 99 from Ratebeer.

Folks, beer just doesn't get much better than this.  Don't sleep on this one.

The Charleston Beer Exchange can be found at 14 Exchange Street downtown.
