Help Charleston's park activists with their "Double Dig Parks Planting Day," on Saturday, May 9th.

Here are the details from their Web site:

Join Charleston Parks Conservancy staff at Brittlebank Park and Chapel St. Triangle Park for a garden plant installation. Learn about proper planting techniques and plant selection based on your growing conditions. Be a part of the ever changing park landscape in your Charleston Parks

Meet at either sites, Brittlebank Park or Chapel St. Triangle Park. Please bring your normal tools, bucket and gloves. Please e-mail Paul Wentz af pwentz@charlestonparksconservancy.org to let him know you are coming and which park you wil be meeting that morning.

The events run from 9 a.m. to noon.

Sure, it's not exactly "fun" but it's good way to brush up on your gardening skills while making your city a bit more pleasant.
