Meet Alex & Lisa, traveling the world one wedding at a time (Update)

Update at the bottom...

A few days ago I was able to have a Skype chat with Alex and Lisa, the world traveling serial-wedders, and they are very excited by the events planned for their Myrtle Beach weddings.

In the video interview above, Alex and Lisa get into how this crazy adventure got started, and they shared their excitement of their travels thus far. When I spoke with them they were getting ready to hit the road from Texas to go to Louisiana for their voodoo-themed wedding in New Orleans.

I also got a chance to speak with local photographer August Michel, who was inspired by the duo's journey and just had to get them to Myrtle Beach. Michel, along with many partners that include Legends in ConcertCravinleysSalon & Spa 18 and more has lined up quite the five-day whirlwind.

The 5 Weddings in 5 Days event kicks off on Saturday, November 24th down in Pawleys Island at Litchfield Plantation and concludes on Wednesday, November 28th at Broadway at the Beach with a celebrity-themed wedding complete with Elvis officiating the ceremony and Rod Stewart walking the bride down the aisle. The final event will be closed out with a flash mob, which you can read more about below in our first report.

5 Weddings in 5 Days Schedule:

  • November 24th: Litchfield Plantation - featuring a pure southern charm theme.
  • November 25th: Broadway at the Beach Carousel with a Candy Land theme.
  • November 26th: Myrtle Beach State Park, James Bond theme wedding with jet skis, speed boats, and skydiving.
  • November 27th: An African themed affair at the Tiger Preserve -complete with an elephant (Lisa is quite excited about the elephant)
  • November 28th: Celebrity theme with World Record Setting Wedding Reception Flash Mob near the Visitor Center at Broadway at the Beach.

Check out the first report to get all the details about who Alex and Lisa are and all about the MyrtleBeachWeddingExtravaganza.com event.

Update, November 11. 2012: It looks like fellow local media is catching on to this awesome upcoming event.

The Sun News has a write-up about Alex and Lisa and the upcoming Myrtle Beach Wedding Extravaganza, which you can read here. The Sun News' piece goes into a little more detail on the local vendors that are donating their time and resources for the event.

Make sure to give it a read.

Update, November 21st: Only one week until the big flash mob event and a few more days until Alex and Lisa's first (of five) weddings in the area.

Acording to a blog post yeaterday over at Myrtle Beach Wedding Extravaganza, Alex and Lisa are in town so be on the look out for their van Peggy tooling around the area.

Also, due to legal issues, the song and dance for the flash mob has been  changed and you can watch the instructional video below. If online-video learnin' isn't your thing, there are two scheduled practices at Brooks Stadium at CCU in Conway. The days of the practices are this Monday and Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.

Some news that hasn't been shared yet is that we will be doing a live stream of the flash mob for the world to see. We will promote the link to where you can view the stream a day or so before the big event.

Update, November 26th: With two of the Grand Strand weddings under their belt, Alex and Lisa are getting ready for their third.

Today is the couple's 'James Bond' theme wedding at the Myrtle Beach State Park but over the past few days, Alex and Lisa enjoyed two of their five Myrtle Beach weddings and other media outlets were on hand with the story.

First is The Sun News' piece about their first wedding in the area at Litchfield (photos here) and the second is WBTW News Channel 13's write-up and broadcast from yesterday's Broadway at the Beach Carousel, Candy Land themed nuptials.

This Wednesday, November 28th, is of course the big one. Alex and Lisa's celebrity wedding, again at Broadway at the Beach where a flash mob is scheduled after the couple says 'I do'. The big news from our end is that we will be there broadcasting the whole thing live on the world wide web!

The URL to the live broadcast is: http://bit.ly/MYRflashmob -so spread it around and let your friends know!
