HGTC students offer affordable computer tune-ups

Members of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) will be offering their expertise to cash-strapped students and the general public interested in learning how to keep their computers running smoothly.

The "PC Wash" will be held on the Conway campus of Horry-Georgetown Technical College in Room 310 of the 1000 Building beginning on Tuesday, October 4th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A second session will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Room 315, also in the 1000 Building. They will continue every Tuesday until the end of the year.

Highly-qualified students will be doing basic PC maintenance such as defragging hard drives, virus scans, malware removal, and other tasks that could greatly enhance a computer's performance. The students will also offer their customers tutorials on how to keep up with system maintenance.

Prices are as follows:

  • $5.00 for the first 30 minutes,
  • $2.00 for every 30 minutes after

In addition to providing services, the students will accept donations to the local AITP chapter.
