Pooches can play poolside during Sunday's Dog Day Afternoon (update: video)

Update September 13: The Post and Courier has some great photos, a video and post-event reporting on the 2nd Annual Dog Day Afternoon that drew around 1,000 dogs out the the Whirlin' Waters Adventure Park on Sunday afternoon.

First reporting:

This Sunday the Whirlin' Waters Adventure Waterpark invites canines and their human counterparts to the second annual Dog Day Afternoon.

From noon until 5 p.m., large dogs can have a blast in the wave pool, while smaller dogs can take a dip in Otter Bay to cool off from the summer heat.

Tickets are $10 per dog and just $8 per Charleston County resident's dogs. Humans, you get in for free.

The Whirlin' Waters Adventure Waterpark is located within North Charleston Wannamaker County Park at 8888 University Boulevard.
