Ready or not, AquaPalooza '11 is coming to Daniel Island

This year's AquaPalooza boat party extravaganza is shifting from the waters around historic Morris Island to the Wando River adjacent to the Family Circle Tennis Stadium and Interstate 526.

Four hundred boats took to the water for last year's event, and this year, even more are expected. AquaPalooza, sponsored by SeaRay/Scout of Charleston, is free to attend and is scheduled to run from 1 to 5 p.m. Daniel Island, get ready for loud music, food, bikinis, beers, and the potential for a lot of trash to pick up come Saturday evening.

The switch to the Wando River location comes as a surprise to residents and public officials alike. The Post and Courier reports that Charleston city councilman Gary White, both a boater and Daniel Island resident, had no idea the boat rally had been moved.

Ready or not, the boats are coming and the party is on. Read all about it in today's Post and Courier.
