Update 12/30/11: Some more details for the Tea Party Debate have emerged and a few GOP Presidential hopefuls will be speaking.

Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann will all be speaking and hoping to grab some votes for the upcoming South Carolina primary. Also, Governor Nikki Haley and Senator Jim Demint will be in attendance and speak as well.

Head on over to CarolinaLive for their write-up and talk with Joe Dugan, the convention orginizer and Myrtle Beach Tea Party head.

First Report 11/18/11: The South Carolina Tea Party will be holding its first convention on January 15th and 16th, 2012 right here in Myrtle Beach.

The event is scheduled at the same time as the scheduled GOP presidential debate that will also be held here. This might make for a pretty successful and if anything eventful weekend here along the Grand Strand.

The Tea Party Convention will not be open to the public, but they are expecting at least 400 people to attend. For the details so far, hop on over to Carolina Live
