The Charleston RiverDogs, host of Fat Tire Friday, has dedicated their annual “Bike Night” to honor the late Dr. Mitchell Hollon and other fallen cyclists in Charleston.

A raffle with two chances to win, a 20th Anniversary bicycle from New Belgium Brewing and a bicycle from local outfitter Affordabike, will take place on September 2nd, at the Asheville Tourists game. Two winners will be announced at the game at the top of the 7th inning.

Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Dr. Mitchell Hollon Memorial Fund to raise awareness about the bicycling safety. Patti Hollon has created this fund with Peter Wilborn to honor her late husband and proactively pursue structural changes that prevent bicycling mortality in the Lowcountry.

Daniel Russell-Einhorn of Affordabike invites any interested bicyclists to ride over to the Joe Riley Stadium from his storefront at 534 King Street. Riders should gather at Affordabike at 5:45 pm on Friday, September 2nd. Holy City Co-op will be waiting at Joseph P. Riley stadium with bike valets.

If you would like to join bike advocates in the stands, here is a group seating link provided by the RiverDogs for discounted tickets. Password: safecrossing.
