On June 2nd River Oaks Golf Plantation will play host to the 2nd Annual Marc Chaplin Memorial Golf Tournament. 

The Marc Chaplin Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Marc Chaplin. Marc was an outstanding student at the Academy of Art, Science and Technology and Myrtle Beach High School and a member of the Robotics team.

Marc was tragically killed in a motorcycle collision in 2009 on his way to school. This golf tournament funds a scholarship which is presented to a High School Senior at graduation. The recipient must demonstrate character, leadership and academic achievement. 

This will be the second year of the Golf Tournament and the third year that we will be handing out the scholarship to a local student. In its first year, 2009-2010 the Scholarship was awarded to Lucas Britt, a Senior at Myrtle Beach High School. In 2010-2011 the second year the recipient was Shebly Jenkins.
