Update February 2: The Charleston City Paper swung by and shares a brief write-up and a couple of pics.

Seems like it was a pretty fun, but as-expected time.

First reporting: The good news: You can load up on gourmet catering and chocolate deserts from some of Charleston's best restaurants, including: 82 Queen, Baked, Charleston Cookie Company, Circa 1886, Gaulart & Maliclet, Saffron Cafe and Bakery, Sugar Bake Shop, and more.

The bad: It's $85.

And, the it makes it OK: The Chocolate Affair is a fundraiser to help kids stay in school, namely Communities In Schools, "a nonprofit organization that champions all youth to stay in school by connecting the best community resources with the needs of students, their families and schools."

The night will also have an auction with items from dozens of local businesses and individuals.

As the event organizers say:
The Chocolate Affair is a gala function offering gourmet catering and chocolate desserts from Charleston's finest restaurants and speciality shops. The evening also features more than 200 auction items for every budget. Items include jewelry, fantasy vacations, furniture, artwork, dinner packages, gifts and services.
