Bitters can be a cakewalk.

The fine folks from the Charleston Beer Exchange and Cupcake are getting a bit zany to show you how cupcake and fine brews are not mutually exclusive with an event aptly named: the "Cupcake and Beer Pairing Tasting".

It's Thursday, May 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Charleston Beer Exchange (yes, it's not at Cupcake on King).

They'll be pairing four different decadent creations with four specially selected beers, and it's all free.

Here's the line-up:

-French Toast Cupcake with Cheesecake Filling paired with Samuel Smith Strawberry
-Salted Caramel Chocolate Cupcake with Southern Tier Mokah
-Key Lime Cupcake with Sierra Nevada Hoptimum Imperial IPA
-Baileys Cream Cheese and Stout Cupcake with Stone Imperial Russian Stout
