It's that time of year again and, no matter how you spell it, the idea of a free deep fried lump of sugary dough sounds pretty good. 

Today is National Donut Day. You can snag a free Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' Donut. A purchase of a beverage is required for the Dunkin' giveaway. Good thing the have some pretty tasty coffee! 

Donut Day was started by the Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the women that served doughnuts to soldiers in World War I. At least, that's what Wikipedia tells us.
