Freshfields Village Brings Back the Blues on April 15

Three extraordinary blues bands from around the world will perform at Freshfields Village on Sunday, April 15. Enjoy a spring afternoon at the 8th annual Blues by the Sea with the sounds of urban and soul-flavored blues, funk music, electric tunes and more from 2 until 7 p.m.

This year’s line-up includes:

  • 2 p.m. Biscuit Miller & The Mix – Bassist and singer, David “Biscuit” Miller never fails to please a crowd with his energy and funk. This Midwestern band will kick off the afternoon with a mix of urban blues and good-time music.
  • 3:30 p.m. Sugar Ray & The Bluetones – This award-winning band has been entertaining around the world since 1978 and represent the absolute best in traditional American electric blues! Be sure to listen for Sugar Ray’s signature harmonica sounds. You’ll know why they’re a favorite the minute they take the stage.
  • 5:15 p.m. Lucky Peterson featuring Tamara Peterson – First discovered by blues legend Willie Dixon, Lucky recorded his first album at the age of five and soon after hit the “Tonight Show” stage. Dubbed the “master of guitar, organ and microphone” by The New Yorker, Peterson will make his first Lowcountry appearance in 25 years at the event. Joining him on stage to provide blues vocals is his wife Tamara.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and most importantly—your dancing shoes. This rain or shine event is sponsored by the Town of Kiawah, Bill & Marilyn Blizard and the Lowcountry Blues Bash.
