FREE CONCERTS NIGHTLY DURING MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AT FRESHFIELDS VILLAGE

Bands To Perform 6 to 9 p.m. on the Village Green

 

KIAWAH ISLAND, SC—The unofficial start to summer in the Lowcountry is Memorial Day weekend, so celebrate with, free concerts nightly at Freshfields Village from 6 to 9 p.m. Head to the Village Green Friday, May 23 through Sunday, May 25 for the Memorial Day Weekend Concert Series, as three high-energy bands perform. Barrier Island Marine will also have their latest boats on display.

 

Friday, May 23 – JAVA: This band of six musicians includes a lead guitar, saxophone, bass, drums, keyboard and vocalist. Performing a wide variety of tunes, including jazz, ‘70s beach, beach, Motown, Top 40, ‘80s and more. While performing throughout the United States, JAVA has played with top artists like Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago, Michael McDonald, Wild Cherry, Anthony Hamilton and others.

 

Saturday, May 24 – Suckerpunch: Suckerpunch’s members hold music degrees and they use them to rock the house with the best in pop, dance, R&B, ‘60s, rock and recent hits.

 

Sunday, May 25 – Gracious Day: Enjoy the sounds of country and Southern music with Gracious Day, which will bring its full band to the Village Green stage. Expect vocal harmonies as they perform the best in vintage and contemporary country.

 

Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs or blankets, and food and beverage will be available for purchase. The series is sponsored in part by The Town of Kiawah, Barrier Island Marine and Charleston Magazine.
