Charleston's farmers markets: Here's when and where

We can all smell Springtime in Charleston, which means many things like: the beach, Spoleto, bike rides, etc., and it also means that the farmers markets are opening up once again.

TheDigitel is here to provide the best spectacle of Charleston, so here is a list of the farmers markets that are either open now or will soon be open:
Shelmore Village Outdoor Market: For all of you who frequent the Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market, but are disappointed that it doesn’t open until May, here's the answer. Pleasantly located in Mt. Pleasant's Shelmore Village this market features fresh produce from: Boone Hall Farms, Tiverton Farms, and Porch Creek Produce. Rococo Bakery. This market is open every Wednesday from 4 p.m. through dark until September 2.
Mount Pleasant Farmers Market: Opening late this year on May 12.
Daniel Island Farmers Market: Although it is not up and running yet, this farmers market, sponsored by the Family Circle Tennis Center and the Daniel Island Business Association, aims to promote a community ambience while supporting local farmers and artisans. Mark your calendars now for April 30 for this one, and it runs until September 24.
Seeds of Hope Farmers Market: Located in James Island this Farmers Market is coordinated by the South Carolina Christian Action Council. They offer the same array of produce as the other markets, and they strive to increase profits for the farmer by eliminating the middle-man. This farmers market is open on Saturdays from 8-5 p.m.
North Charleston/Hanahan Farmers Market: Sponsored by the city of North Charleston and the city of Hanahan this farmers market offers variety of events cooking demonstrations throughout the season. Located at Park Circle's Felix C. Davis Community Center, this farmers market has plenty of free parking and it's a great place for children. This market opens April 23 and stays open through October 29 from 2-6 p.m. on Thursdays.
Summerville Farmers Market: Located on W. Doty between Cedar and Main Street; Saturdays until November; from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Open now.
Moncks Corner: Open Saturdays at corner of Gulledge and Heatley streets. The Post and Courier has details on when.
MUSC Farmers Market at the Horseshoe (171 Ashley Avenue) on Fridays; starts April 17.
Ralph H. Johnson Medical Center Farmers Market at 109 Bee Street on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. from April 15 until December.
The Charleston Farmers Market : Last but not least, is the market at Marion Square that is definitely a local favorite. It opens this year on April 11, and will run through to December. We made a video of it back in September of last year.
