Charleston lands another iOS travel app, 'Charleston Essential Guide'

There's a new Charleston iPhone travel application on the scene, "Charleston ✭Essential✭ Guide."

Read more stories on this subject in our iPhone topic page.Weighing in at a 17MB download the $1.99 app offers, "plenty of information about the city's long and storied past, but the focus is on the vibrant action of today's Charleston - where to stay, dine, play and relax right now."

The guide is broken down into basic sections of Bring Jr., Shop, Stay, Enjoy, an so on and includes several free activities. Also touted is a mapping service that tells you how to get somewhere and offers an estimated taxi fee.

The guide was published in partnership with Sutro Media, featuring the works of Liz Rennie a local who lives in Park Circle and used to work in the media Relations department of the Charleston Area CVB.
