Flying in and out of Charleston will cost you - a lot.

According to the Charleston Regional Business Journal's article posted today, from the first quarter of 2009 to the same period in 2010, Charleston had the highest average airfare increase (16%) and second-highest average ticket cost ( $443.45) among the nation's top 100 busiest airports.

The light at the end of the money-sucking tunnel is the hope that Southwest Airlines' arrival at the Charleston International Airport in May of 2011 will bring prices back down toward the national average.
