Downtown Myrtle Beach gets graded on customer service

Myrtle Beach Downtown Redevelopment Corporation funded a multi-week "secret shopper" study to determine the overall patron experience with local shops and restaurants.

The study took place right in the busy season of June 15th through August 1st and targeted 12 restaurants and 23 retail stores. The MBDRC released the results of their study this week and the results are somewhat interesting. The Sun News has more details on the scores and what exactly was measured. Read that here. WPDE also covered the story and their video package is below.

Have you had good or bad experiences downtown? Do you think that's a part of the problem with the vitality of downtown? Sound off in the comments.
