The ceremony will be held at PIA’s newly renovated campus at 1038 Shine Avenue, Myrtle Beach, SC. There will be a tour of the facility and live demonstrations of what students will be learning.  Speakers at the event will include: Tom Rice – County Council President, Neyle Wilson – President, Horry Georgetown Technical College, Horry County, John Graham III – President, Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, Suzanne Markle – Executive Vice President, Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics.

PIA's upcoming spring semester is almost filled up but but there is plenty of time to speak with an Admissions Representative about enrolling at PIA for its May 8, 2012 class.

First Report 5/1/11: The  Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics will be setting up shop near the Conway-Horry County airport and expects to create several job opportunities.

After the 2008 close of The North American Institute of Aviation at the airport, officials hope this is a good sign of overall improvement in the economy.

  • The Sun News has a report on their ribbon cutting and how many jobs the school will provide. Read it here.
  • WPDE has a little bit more information about the second school, Innovative Flying. That can be found here.

I think it's funny how Brad Dickerson's article specifically mentions that no tax breaks or incentives were given to the school. Is that a good or bad thing? It's interesting enough to note that PIA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
