The Post and Courier reports that the new penguin exhibit at the S.C. Aquarium is largely responsible for a three-fold rise in attendance.
Read more stories on this subject in our Aquarium topic page.
On loan from Sea World, these aquatic flightless birds will be in Charleston through March 2010.
You can learn (and see) loads more about the penguins in our archive section or, better yet, just go see them in person.
The Aquarium is at 100 Aquarium Wharf in downtown Charleston. Tickets are $10 for kids, and $17 for adults. Open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; except Sundays when they open at noon.
