Three Charleston Food Lion grocery stores to close

The town with no dearth of grocery stores will soon have a mere 16 stores serving the inhabitants of Mount Pleasant.

That's after Delhaize America, the parent of the Food Lion chain of grocery stores, follows up on its announcement that it would, "close 113 underperforming Food Lion stores, primarily in markets in which the company has the least store density."

Two are slated to close in Mount Pleasant and one in Moncks Corner within 30 days.

You can see a map of all the South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina closures below and you can view a full list of closures over here.

Relatedly in late December, it was announced that many Sears and Kmart locations would close — however  the individual closings were not announced.
