Several fights broke out among patrons at Whirlin' Waters Adventure Waterpark on Memorial Day, prompting officials to close the park at about 3:45 p.m. The water park, located at Wannamaker County Park, was a popular spot for the warm holiday. But apparently the heat raised tensions, as well. The Post and Courier wrote on it:
Several fights broke out, and the park closed at 3:45 p.m., more than two hours early.
"We had an influx of people behaving badly," said park General Manager Christine Volousky.
Jamarra Robinson, 16, said, "It was hot and a lot of drama. It was a big group of people fighting, left and right. When they escorted them out, they broke back in."
ABC News 4 added: "The park says it was close to capacity, which is 4,000 people, when they closed."
