South Carolina anti-illegal immigration measure picking up steam

Update March 11: The Senate has advanced the bill with a 34-9 vote and the anti-illegal immigration bill now heads to the House.

First reporting March 10: Ten months after South Carolina lawmakers looked to up their game on illegal immigration enforcement, senators have appeared to fall in line behind a new plan.
While they dropped measures that would jail illegal immigrants, they approved others that would increase enforcement through opening up more lawsuits against non-complaint local governments and new state-level immigration enforcement officers.
