Update: Bullard shot himself.

Just three North Charleston police officers have been shot in the last 27 years, and two of those have been during 2012.

Sgt. Eddie Bullard was the second, he was shot near 5 a.m. Wednesday while off Rivers Avenue. Bullard sustained only minor injuries thanks to a protective vest.

Multiple reports abound, The Post and Courier has a robust one (paywall, read it here) and Live 5 News has a solid video report (see it here).

A suspect is still being sought as of the latest reports — we'll keep you posted.
