Traffic delays for the Myrtle Beach Marathon

This weekend is the Myrtle Beach Marathon and while those running the race will be having the time of their healthy lives, the rest of us will be subject to traffic delays and closures.

The marathon will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 18. Runners will start the race at BB&T Field, travel down Mr. Joe White Avenue, down to Highway 17, up and back through Farrow Parkway, to the Boulevard all the way to Grand Dunes Boulevard. Runners will turn around towards the end of Grand Dunes Boulevard and make their way to 67th, head down a frontage road to Grissom Parkway and make their way back to BB&T Field.

Bypass 17 should not be affected, and highway traffic north of Grand Dunes should be fine, as well as all traffic south of Farrow Parkway on both Highway 17 and Bypass 17.

After the race, checkout the parties going on around town celebrating the marathon and its runners
