Keep an umbrella handy, it's going to be a wet week

A wet weather pattern is setting up over South Carolina for the next few days, so it'd be a wise choice to keep your umbrella close by.

An upper level low is coming our way from the Gulf of Mexico. This low, combined with a cold front, will keep clouds and showers in the forecast through midweek.

Below are the conditions predicted from Monday - Wednesday courtesy of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration:

Today: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a high near 85. South wind between 9 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely before midnight, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after midnight. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a low around 71. South wind between 9 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 10am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Southwest wind between 8 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southwest wind between 3 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. South wind between 3 and 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Wednesday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
