According the annual report released today by the national Kids Count program, South Carolina ranks 45th in the country for the overall well-being of its children.

The rank for each state is obtained by assessing data on child poverty, teen births, infant mortality, children in single-parent families and so on.

Compared to last year in South Carolina, the report shows an increase in the amount of child poverty, low birth-weight babies and children living in single-parent homes. To see the complete report on South Carolina, click here.
