Update August 30, 11:30 a.m.:

Live 5 News reports that North Charleston police arrested Kevin Michael Harley on second degree burglary charges after he got stuck in a vent while trying to rob a restaurant.

Harley was found trapped in a vertical position in one of the vents leading to the kitchen. He was also wearing socks on his hands to avoid leaving fingerprint evidence.

ABC News 4 has the man's mugshot.

First reporting:

A man was removed from an air duct early this morning at the Shoney's restaurant at 6328 River Avenue in North Charleston.

The morning crew at the restaurant decided it was time to call the firefighters when they heard a voice coming from an air duct above the stove. Authorities are still not sure exactly why the man was up there in the first place.
