Taxidermy is a a boys' club, but two Lowcountry women have taken the bull by the horns and turned the art of preparing, stuffing, and mounting animal skins into full-time professions.

The Post and Courier's Moxie section has an interesting and eye-catching feature on both Mary Permell of Pernell's Taxidermy in Summerville and Renee Thornley of Oaklawn Farm Taxidermy in Moncks Corner.

Hop on over to the post for information on the craft, how to mount a deer head, how the women got into the business, and videos of the ladies at work.
