A $300,000 study has been completed on the S.C. counties that I-95 stretches through.

It has confirmed much of what we already knew: Often the area is poor, the infrastructure is bad, the schools are bad, access to healthcare is bad, leadership is bad, and economic development is bad.

The State has the story on the study.

One of the counties in the area is Dillon County, we've written four items on it. Take a look at them, it's quite illuminating.

But as one commenter pointed out on the state's piece, regardless of a high-tech school or not, one of the biggest ways to achieve success is through parental involvement and everything else follows.
