State's special needs services getting trimmed

The S.C. Department of Disabilities and Special Needs said it will close the Webb Center in West Ashley as a way to deal with the state's trimming of 11.5% of group's budget.

Th Webb Center offers day care and education help to children with physical and mental disabilities.

But the department hopes that closing less-critical facilities like the Webb center will allow it keep larger, more critical facilities like the Coastal Center in Ladson open.
