Greg Hembree the 15th Circuit Solicitor announced his candidacy Thursday evening while at a Republican meeting in North Myrtle Beach.

Hembree will be running against Democrat Dick Elliott for the District 28 South Carolina Senate seat this fall. Elliott, a veteran of South Carolina politics for over 29 years says he will seek re-election.
