After operating without a budget for several months, the James Island Town Council approved, in a 4-0 vote, a $1.95 million budget for 2010-2011.

According to The Post and Courier, this year's budget is about one-third smaller than last years, but includes more funding for attacking drainage issues, consolidates some staff positions, and cuts the mayor's salary from $35,000 to $20,000.
