While House lawmakers allowed 51 of Gov. Mark Sanford's 107 vetoes to stand (cutting a cool $300 million from the budget) the remainder have been passed along to the Senate to see if they too will override Sanford.

Well 29 of those 56 vetoes passed along from the House have already been taken up and overridden by the Senate, and we'll have to wait to see if the Senate will agree to override the remaining 27. But we do know a number of hot budget items have been saved.

Like funding for the state Arts Commission and public libraries.
