The White House has once again rejected S.C. Governor Mark Sanford's adapted request to use $700 million in stimulus funds to pay down the state's debt, instead of expanding programs.

We'll have to wait and see if Sanford will now allow the state to use the money, or attempt to outright block it. -- Or if he has another proposal up his sleeve.

The Associated Press has a succinct write-up and copies of the most recent letters, while The Post and Courier has a bit more detail.
