State lawmakers push bills to thwart teen sexting

A handful of state lawmakers are working to make teen 'sexting' a thing of the past.

According to The State, "A pair of bills were pre-filed last month in the House and Senate, prohibiting minors ages 12-17 from electronically transmitting photographs depicting themselves or other teens in a state of sexual activity or a state of sexually explicit nudity."

If the bills pass, teens caught sexting could face a fine of up to $100 and may be required to take an educational course. If they fail to pay the fine, they'll face driving restrictions.
