A $500,000 grant from the S.C. Conservation Bank locks in 1,274 acres of the rural area as a protected land.

It's funny how much things change in just a couple years. Today the tone is very optimistic about how the area will be preserved and what development does happen will be fitting of the area -- two years ago things were quite different.
