Update August 16:

It's official: Former Wando High School pitcher Drew Cisco signed with the Cincinnati Reds today for $975,000.

The Post and Courier's got the news.

First reporting:

Wando High School right-handed pitcher Drew Cisco, ranked the No. 74 prospect in the draft by Baseball America and Stratford left-handed pitcher Chris Hanna ranked No. 346, were both drafted onto Major League teams yesterday.

Cisco was selected in the sixth round by the Cincinnati Reds. Neither the club nor Cisco have discussed money yet, but Cisco says he's looking for a signing bonus around $1 million. If the Reds don't come through, his back-up plan is to enroll at the University of Georgia. Hanna was taken in the 11th round by the Texas Rangers.

There are numerous other players with South Carolina ties that got drafted yesterday and The Post and Courier has a run-down of them all. Go take a look.
