Johnnie Dodds to undergo an $84 million remake

The Post and Courier reports that an $84 million remake of Johnnie Dodds Boulevard and its frontage roads was approved last week.

The contract's approval marks the largest road project in Charleston County's half-cent transportation tax program and is slated to take about two years to complete.

The goods news is that all of the road work will be done at night, the bad news is that it's just one of four major road-widening road projects planned on U.S. Highway 17 between the Ravenel Bridge and Wando High School.
