Charles Towne Landing's replica of a 17th century trading vessel, Adventure, has been completed and launched in Rockport, Maine and will be put through its paces before and expected November arrival in Charleston.

The 53-foot ship is a replacement for the one designed and built in the 1970s, that one eventually sank in 2004 while it was docked at Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site.

The Post and Courier has more details on the ship and its constructors.

Update October 11: You can track the ship's progress on the S.C. State Parks' site. They've also got loads of video and pictures of the ship.
