Coming Street could soon be two-way street

Image by Geoff Marshall/TheDigitelImage by 20081109-traffic.jpg Traffic downtown is no cakewalk, hopefully the city would keep any traffic changes to the area south of Calhoun Street. But I'll hold my final opinion until after the traffic study.

Downtown's rapid-exit corridor of Coming Street could soon go two-way: The City of Charleston has called for a study to be done on the impacts of pedestrian safety and traffic.

Read all about it at The Post and Courier.

Personally, I'll speculate that they might do as they've done with Ashley and Rutledge, by only making the streets two way on their less-busy parts south of Calhoun Street.

Changing Cannon and Spring streets from one-way is still pending, but looks probable.
